Merriment, sunshine and new friends
Colors permeate and dissipate
Life begins anew, thankful, shared

We are here...NOW
An Afternoon together
Juggling, dancing, dreaming

Share my sunshine
Be here...NOW

Holiday Party Photos

I have been so busy for the last week. Not enough to sleep, eat and blog. I have been shooting a number of parties around town and am sharing some of my more recent shots.

These are all from a party at the The Driskill Hotel in Downtown Austin. I will be reviewing the hotel, food, amenities and staff on Roxy's Best Of blog very soon.

It was an evening filled with food, drinks, dancing and smiles as big as Texas.

Oh...and hand-rolled cigars.

That Dino sure knows how to throw a party.

Merry Motorcycle

I found this great sled in front of the Christmas Red Door Soirée.

There is something magical about motorcycles.

Creation Cannot be Contained

[flor1+sm.jpg]
stone by stone, pavement consumes.
swallowing what we know,
swallowing what we need.

layer upon layer, webs of contact
promising food, freedom, safety.
the promise becomes the problem.

stone by stone, pavement consumes.
swallowing what we know,
swallowing what we need.

poles shift. the universe shrinks
and folds on itself,
connecting reason and rhyme

stripped, layer by layer.
creative energy and love sprout
food, freedom and safety.

sprout by sprout, pavement is consumed.
creation cannot be contained
and provides what we need.

Well of Joy

I look into the pool and am transported--
Mountains, rainbows, trees, and you.

Drops tumble and crash; creating mist--
Ethers that allow our lifetimes to touch

Beet flowers, beauty and dreams--
My soul recognizes you in any form.

Sunshine Settles Sticky

Breathing, brushing, hoping
Darkness and shadows until
Sight and integration fade

Sushine settles sticky
Like honey crust
On cave walls
Revealing rivers of DNA
spanning the face
of this muslin planet

Slowing to still
Hanging on the
Edge of creation

Between the Tracks

I took this as we wandered around the East side last weekend.  This is a shot taken from an ant's perspective on the railroad tracks near 5th & Martinez or 5th & San Marcos.

Either way, I love the lighting and how it brought out the colors of the stone.
